In ancient Israel, a woman named Deborah was leading the nation. She sent for a man named Barak and told him to take 10,000 men to confront an army. Barak responded by telling her he wouldn’t go unless she went with him. So this woman leader went, but told Barak because of his response, his honor would go to a woman. The military action was successful, and a woman received his honor. Yet to the credit of Barak, along with the woman leading the nation, he praised God for Israel’s success in battle and blessed the woman who assisted in defeating the enemy.
